An excellent game for both casual and serious players. The premise of the game is that you are taking part in battles in the context of a much larger war. Your task as commander is to marshal your resources, gradually upgrade your material and beat the other commanders. The game takes patience, strategy, and a little bit of luck.
The rules are easy to pick up, and you will soon be able to muster your troops like a pro. Your choice of upgrades is really important, and you cant put all your eggs in one basket. Spread out your upgrades among energy production, munitions upgrade, experience points, etc.
The cool thing about the game is that you can play head-to-head against a friend. Your equipment in the head-to-head battle is based on the equipment you acquired in battles against the system, so spend some time and build yourself up but good so you can crush your friends and loved ones.
The game plays very smoothly on the iPad and on the iPod Touch. The graphics, the sound effects and the music are all top-notch. This is a great effort - I just spent most of the evening playing solo and with a friend, and it was hard to tear ourselves away from the game.
For a dollar, this game is an incredible value. The one-star ratings I see on the iTunes store seem completely unjustified to me; those people who think poorly of this game should at least say why they gave it such a low rating. I, for one, dont know what in the world they are thinking.
I highly recommend this game - its easy to learn, and its really a lot of fun. Get it pronto before the price goes up !
